Can Pizza Boxes Be Recycled?

What to do with all those old boxes from your pizza take out or delivery?

In Vermont, and according to the Addison County Solid Waste Management District office, pizza boxes with just a small amount of grease can be placed in your blue bin for recycling.

Remove any liners or inserts that are used to collect grease and remove any stuck-on cheese or food before putting the box in the recycling bin.

If your pizza box is super greasy or has big globs of cheese or food stuck to it, you can throw it in the trash for the landfill. Just tear off the clean parts of the box and toss those in the recycle bin.
